Facilities

GS Lab provides end-to-end product development services to independent software vendors (ISVs) outside India, mainly in the US. To enable delivery of its highly differentiated R&D services, we maintain state-of-the-art IT infrastructure. This infrastructure enables us to run a fully integrated extension of its customer’s in-house engineering organization.

IT Infrastructure

GS Lab maintains a comprehensive IT infrastructure managed by a team of experienced and trained system and network administrators who provide the necessary IT support for diverse set of activities such as:

Working with project teams to build contingency planning
 Instituting backup procedures
 Software procurement and license management
 Desktop support (Unix and Windows)
 Server administration (Unix and Windows)
 Email administration
 Network management and trouble-shooting
 VPN support
 File-sharing
 Firewall management for effective data exchange between teams

Network and Communication

GS Lab has taken several steps to install state of the art networking and communications facilities as follows:

	Internet bandwidth of over 4 Mbps protected with firewalls.
	Connectivity between the facilities through private leased lines.
	Network isolation amongst various projects (customers) is achieved by creating a separate subnet for each customer.
	Common compute and networking resources (like compute servers, printers, mail, newsgroups, collaborative tools, etc.) are located on the “Backbone” subnet which is accessible to all other subnets.
	All the subnets are connected together through filtering firewalls which enforce access and authentication policies.
	Remote access to these subnets is possible via separate VPN servers. As a result the users or customer can access and monitor these resources remotely.
	Telecommunications support with several PSTN and VOIP lines with India and US numbers.
	Collaboration facilities to share data and knowledge between teams.
	Employees are reachable through landline, mobile phones, internet chat and email.

Physical Plant

We have a total of 16000 square feet of furnished software office space at three locations 500 meters apart at Pune, India. Pune is 150 kms from Mumbai, the financial center and a major international city in India.

Specifically, our physical space is equipped with:

	Over 170 programmer seats with full furnishing, electrical fittings, air-conditioning, and network for an international grade office setting
	A full capacity diesel generator sets for backup in case of power outages
	UPS power for uninterrupted operation
	Several conference rooms and open spaces for team meetings
	Separate server room for rack-mounted servers
