  • Implementing IoT in Video surveillance:

Internet of Things will play a major role in connecting disparate devices and disparate data and help network cameras to think independently and take smart decisions. In a connected mesh of network cameras if any of the cameras stop recording or get corrupted by external factors, the device installed at a different location cover up for the lost one. Building not just IP-based cameras but an IP-based system would ensure flexibility and connectivity that would be impossible to obtain otherwise.

  • Predictive Analysis of Data Captured:

Devices connected with each other will gather videos and images, live stream videos, footage of every second from different devices across a connected network. The challenge would be – deriving insights from the pool of unstructured data.Using deep learning and predictive analytics models, the edge device will be able to a sense anomalies in the surrounding environment. The devices will be able to make smarter decisions like recognizing abnormal behavior in a public place and alert the authorities to take action using face recognition, forecast the likelihood of events based on analysis of past and current data using AI.

While the integration and implementation of such technologies is difficult to achieve, a lot of effort is being taken to make smart devices and systems for security personnel to be able to take proactive actions to ensure public safety.
