Facilitating The Shift from legacy Virtual Network Computing to Open Web Technologies

A web conferencing solutions company migrates screen share applications from legacy Virtual Network Computing (VNC) systems to Next Generation Systems for better user participation

Overview – The customer is a renowned cloud-based web conferencing solution provider, which empowers enterprise communications through a reliable and secure global platform that unifies audio, video, and screen sharing capabilities in a single application. Our customer was looking for better user engagement by enriching their existing audio/video recordings with screen recordings.

Challenge – The customer was looking for a:

  • A solution that will integrate each component – audio, video and screen share into a standard MP4 format for a seamless web streaming or mobile browsing
  • It should also convert the existing data from FBS format to MP4 format.

Solution – We developed a utility solution from scratch that converts FBS files into MP4. The utility not only validated that the converted screen share files (in MP4 format) synced with the MP4 audio files but made them responsive across applications and screens.
